Please — Take A Rest!

There is no productivity without rest

I’m tired.

I’m tired of the idea of needing to work around the clock to feel productive.

Society is producing overworked, extremely tired, burnt-out people.

There is a new trend of working 5–9 after your 9–5, which begs the question — when do we rest?

Don’t get me wrong — I am not a lazy person. I just don’t necessarily believe you have to be up every day at 5 AM to be productive. Nor do I believe that you need to be running 2/3 businesses around the clock to be successful.

We shouldn’t feel guilty if we are not utilising every second of the day in some way.

Put simply — resting is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

There is no productivity without rest.

Rest shouldn’t be a reward after completing your work. Resting is a big part of the work.

How many of your greatest ideas have come to you whilst you were resting?

So I invite you to rest (It also happens to be a coincidence that I am writing this on a Sunday)

“The time you enjoy wasting is not a waste of time” (John Lennon).

I invite you to put your laptop away for a few hours

Rest your thoughts

Spend time with your loved ones

Go for that walk

Watch that movie

“When the mind is allowed to relax, inspiration often follows” (Phil Jackson).

Thank you for reading my little rant.

Wishing you lots of rest and inspiration!
