Stretch marks on my stomach illustrate the first home of my baby

Excess skin on my body is a constant memory of when I and my baby were one before we became two

The hair that falls off my head is a reminder of the temporary hormones that are still in my body

The milk that leaks from my breasts is my baby’s form of survival

Urine incontinence is a depiction of how hard I worked my pelvic muscles to push out my baby

The soreness in my vagina is a sign of the incredible miracle my body just carried out

The tiredness and irritability I feel daily narrates a unique and beautiful tale of motherhood

My body is far from perfect, and it may never return to the way it was before pregnancy, but nor will my life. I have had a baby, and my body tells me that every time I look at it.
